Alex Senna is a São Paulo-based artist whose near-monochrome murals - lanky, melancholic characters rendered almost exclusively in black and white - have become a recognizable presence on walls from São Paulo to Seoul. Self-taught, with comics artists like Moebius and Quino among his formative influences, Senna reduces human connection to its most elemental gestures: an embrace, a shared burden, a hand reaching up. He was invited to Vienna by the Calle Libre Festival in 2024, where he painted a mural on Vorgartenstrasse and designed the festival poster.

Human Tower - created in direct relation to that Vienna mural - stacks figures of different ethnicities and genders into a collective structure, Giacometti's elongated bodies reimagined as a human architecture of mutual support. „This mural shows how together we can go further with everyone's help,“ Senna says. „At the same time as praising community, it also has a more subtle tone of criticism.“ Single-color screenprint - proving that one ink layer is enough when the drawing carries this much weight.
