Fábio Baroli is a Brazilian artist from Uberaba, Minas Gerais, whose poetic visual language explores childhood, voyeurism, and the imaginary worlds of rural Brazil. His “Vendeta” and “Intifada” oil painting series depicted children in urban war situations — toy guns replacing real weapons — and was shown across major Brazilian institutions including Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio and Museu Nacional de Brasília. In 2017, we invited him to Vienna as Q21 Artist-in-Residence at MuseumsQuartier, where he presented GOLIATH at our Jan Arnold Gallery — an unfair battle fought by children, framed through the biblical tale of David and Goliath.
The pink edition of Water Gun — limited to 12 copies — shifts the palette into pop-candy territory, amplifying the dissonance between playful object and loaded symbol. Same five-color screenprint, same weight beneath the surface. Signed, numbered, and blind-stamped.
