Lushsux is an anonymous Melbourne-based street artist — self-described “world’s first meme artist” — whose viral murals mash up pop culture, internet memes, and confrontational humor. From 50 Cent portrait remixes to Banksy’s Dismaland (2015), his work lives at the intersection of street art and internet culture, with over 600K Instagram followers.
He came to Vienna as Q21 Artist in Residence at the MuseumsQuartier in 2017, creating a 50-metre mural on the MQ construction fence and presenting an exhibition at the Jan Arnold Gallery. This bundle of five digital prints — Conchita Wurst, Falco Mozart, Dancing Saussage, McGregor vs Mayweather, and Rolling Stones — was produced during that residency.
