Rudolf Fitz (AT) – Strada del Sole

Rudolf Fitz is a Vienna-based painter whose body of work revolves around the city's disappearing streetscape - abandoned storefronts, fading signage, nostalgic facades that blend memory with fiction. His large-scale oil canvases create what feel like portals into a parallel Vienna, one that's half-remembered, half-invented. We've worked with Fitz extensively - from the NO OPENING 03 exhibition with Ben Reyer to the Artist Check-In at Hotel Altstadt curated together with the Jan Arnold Gallery, the Living Studio residency at the MuseumsQuartier, and the "Alles wird gut" public intervention during lockdown.

Strada del Sole takes Fitz's nostalgia beyond Vienna to a sun-drenched Mediterranean facade. Four-color screen print on Pergraphica paper, more intimate at 40×50cm but no less evocative - a shopfront that could be anywhere from Trieste to Naples, rendered with the same loving attention to fading typography and peeling paint.
