Inkman is the alias of Mohamed Kilani Tbib, a Tunisian artist who started painting on the walls of Tunis during the Arab Spring in 2011. Trained in design and typography, he developed a style he calls calligraffiti — Latin characters deconstructed and reshaped with the flowing aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy. Every letter is readable, yet the compositions feel like ornamental Arabic script. His murals span from the village of Erriadh on Djerba (part of the legendary Djerbahood project) to a five-story facade in Dubai, and he has collaborated with luxury houses like Guerlain and Kartell.

Paradise arranges Inkman’s calligraffiti into a circular medallion — a format that echoes Islamic geometric tradition. What reads like ornamental Arabic script reveals itself, on closer inspection, as Latin letters carrying fragments of poetry. Single-color gold ink on Gmund’s textured Stone Quarz paper gives the work the quiet authority of an illuminated manuscript page, while the embossed surface adds a tactile dimension that screen prints rarely achieve.
