Maria Legat is a Villach-born, Vienna-based painter known for large-scale works reflecting socio-political tensions. She studied contextual painting with Ashley Hans Scheirl and extended painting with Daniel Richter at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Her work has been juxtaposed with Hieronymus Bosch at the Gemäldegalerie der Akademie.
