Nitzan Mintz is an Israeli artist working at the intersection of visual art and poetry. Her practice layers written language with graphic imagery, creating compositions that read like visual poems. Together with her partner Dede, she has exhibited internationally — from Tel Aviv and New York to Leipzig and Munich. In 2017, the duo presented Out Of Place at the Jan Arnold Gallery in Vienna, combining an exhibition with a book launch and an outdoor mural in the city.
The Opening is printed in two colors on marbled paper — a substrate where each sheet carries its own unique pattern, adding an element of chance to every print. No two copies are exactly alike. Mintz's composition plays with this inherited texture, creating a dialogue between the controlled and the accidental that recalls Cy Twombly's lyrical mark-making.
