Nora Schindler is a Vienna-based artist whose paintings probe identity, consumer desire, and self-examination. As a transgender woman navigating personal and societal transformation, her work draws on autobiography and gender politics to create what she calls “an alternative world to a reality of polished sensations.” She presented paintings from her cycle BLUNT in a solo exhibition at the Jan Arnold Gallery.

Gier — German for greed — cuts to a theme Schindler returns to again and again: the raw mechanics of wanting. In the tradition of fellow Viennese artists like Egon Schiele, who stripped self-portraiture to its most exposed nerve, Schindler confronts appetite without apology. Four-color screenprint on Munken Pure paper, signed, numbered, and blindstamped.
