Said Dokins was invited to take part at the Viennese Calle Libre festival in 2021. In cooperation with Calle Libre and Said Dokins we produced two Screen prints as well as a more affordable and smaller Risograph print. The artist created all Layers for the print design on spot and the silk screen print was made in an 100% analogue process. Donkins works mainly with Lettering and used words he collected from people he met in the streets and talked to during his stay in Vienna. His huge wall paintings are unique combination calligraphic style brushwork and the disruptive gesture of graffiti. Said Dokins is a Mexico City-based artist who has been writing on walls since the 1990s. Trained in visual arts and philosophy at UNAM, he studied Western calligraphy with Denis Brown and Japanese brush technique with Master Masahiko Hiyama — fusing these traditions with graffiti into what he calls his "Primitive Alphabet." Named one of Forbes Mexico's 100 Most Creative Mexicans, his monumental murals span five continents. In 2021, he came to Vienna for the Calle Libre festival, where he created these editions using words collected from people he met in the streets.

Community Riso distills the larger screen print into an intimate 20x20cm format — bold, angular brushstrokes in warm gold on Favini's dark Remake Midnight paper. The risograph process adds a raw, slightly imperfect grain that suits the urgency of Dokins' lettering. A compact entry point into the series.
